Description
In 2006 a new act on the organisation of industry associations has been adopted. The act transformed the membership of firms in the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry from a compulsory into a voluntary one. It is expected that a large number of firms will quit their membership in the Chamber and, therefore the income from membership fees will be reduced severely. Consequently, the Chamber will have to reduce the number of employees from existing 215 to approximately 100 employees. Redundant workers will be entitled to get compensation for dismissal. Compensation will be paid out of Chamber’s assets. Altogether it will amount to approximately EUR 210,000.
