Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The company K. Hartwall, which produces rolling containers, is closing the production in Middelfart as a consequence of the great losses in the shareholders' capital. All 140 jobs in manufacturing are to be cut. This was announced on 22 November 2006 and no plans were published concerning the time line. The production will be moved to Finland and UK and only administration and sales will remain. The redundant will probably find a job relatively soon. The union 3F (Federation of United Workers) is planning to arrange large meetings, where the companies in the area will be invited. Several companies have already annonced that they want to hire a part of the workforce from Hartwall.
