Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Akropolis, the owner of two shopping and entertainment centres in Vilnius and in KlaipÄ—da called Akropolis, opened a new shopping centre in Kaunas on 10 April 2007. More than 200 specialised stores have been opened in the centre. According to the administration, more than 2,000 new workers have been employed in Akropolis in Kaunas. During the first ten months of 2006 the sales of Akropolis in Vilnius and KlaipÄ—da reached 884 million LTL. Akropolis belongs to the Vilniaus Prekyba Group of companies, which is one of the largest in the Baltic countries. The Vilniaus Prekyba Group consolidated sales volume in 2005 surpassed 1.8 billion EUR.
