Electronics firm Solectron have announced 1400 redundancies on a global scale. The redundancies, announced on 2 November 2006, will hit the firm's operations in Europe and America.
400 of the redundancies will occur at the firm's plant at Dunfermline, Scotland. Scottish First Minister Jack McConnell reacted to the firm's move to make redundancies in Scotland with disappointment.
