Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The American group Becton Dickinson announced that Becton Dickinson France, specialised in the manufacture of syringes pre-filled for pharmacy and the hospitals, has witnessed an increase in its annual sales turnover above 10% each year. Following this, on 21 November 2006 Becton Dickinson France announced that between November 2006 and December 2007 it will create 280 new jobs in its two French factories in Pont de Claix (Isère) and another one close to Paris. The company currently employs some 1,340 employees in France. Established in France since 1958, the American group is investing 8 million euro in 5,000 square meters of new buildings in Pont de Claix (Isère) which will be operational in 2007.
