Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The daily national newspaper Libération announced on 20 November 2006 that it will cut between 76 and 106 jobs between December 2006 and March 2007.
Libération, which currently employs 320 people, is experiencing serious financial difficulties but it is not going to file for bankruptcy. It was also announced that Libération is going to change the current layout of the newspaper and design a new format. The trade unions and the employees fear that the company is going to close down.
