Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Facility Service Company ISS has started personnel negotiations concerning 1,500 employees. The aim is to cut 190 white-collar jobs in Finland. This decision responds to the reduced profitability of the company.
According to the shop steward, Paavo Hiivola, the announcement to start personnel negotiations did not come as a surprise to the workers. The poor economic situation of the company has been well known for a long time.
