Oracle Romania, the subsidiary of the American company, has increased its workforce from 600 to 800 employees. The reason was the opening of the eleventh support and services centre for financial and accounting operations in Romania, located in Bucharest.
In 2005 the turnover of Oracle Romania almost doubled to EUR 19.5 million from EUR 9.8 million in 2004. The company reported three times higher profit in 2005 compared with 2004 (EUR 4 million from EUR 1.3 million).
The officials of the American company had said Bucharest was one of the main support centres in the EMEA (European, Middle East and Africa) region at the time when Oracle Romania had 600 employees.
