Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Danish company Knudsen Plast decided to invest in eastern Slovakia. The investment project in amount of about EUR 3 million will be located in the premises of former Slovak textile company Slovenka. New production plant will produce plastic elements for the medical industry. According to Christian Overland, Knudsen Plast's CEO, the company management decided to place the new investment in that location because the company's key customer Unomedical operates nearby in Michalovce. The available premises were also an important factor influencing the investor's decision. The production is to be launched in February 2007. Around 200 new jobs will be created there in the next two years.
