Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Pirelli Tyres Romania, the tyres division of the Italian group Pirelli, invested EUR 170 million in the construction of the new plant for tyres of high performance in Slatina (Olt County, South-West Region). In January 2007 the factory will have about 700 employees and at the beginning of 2009, as a result of the production increase, the number of employees is expected to rise to 1,000.
According to the company's annual report the Pirelli's strategy involves the expansion of the production capacities in the areas and on the markets with the highest growth. The company decided to build the factories producing metallic cord and tyres of high performance in Romania in order to respond to an increasing demand on the European markets.
