Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Pelletey group, a manufacturer of chairs, announced on 25 October 2006 that one of its two factories will have to cut jobs because the company has financial problems resulting from competition from the new Member states and China.
The Pelletey factory in Lude is to cut 125 jobs between December 2006 and February 2007.
