Haas Bohemia, founded in 1997 as a subsidiary of the German automotive parts producer Haas-Kunststoff, is a potential investor in a newly opened 10 hectares industrial area of the city Domažlice with investment of CZK 105 million. The company plans to employ there up to 200 workers within three years. With 100 employees Haas Bohemia produces parts for the automotive industry, e.g. gear knobs and shift levers for Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda.
The area has attracted 6 investors from Germany and could bring as much as 600 new jobs in the next years. Employers are looking especially for machinery specialists. According to local labour office, the project may considerably decrease unemployment rate in the city that now stands at 5.6 %.
