Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Pro-Heg, a Czech subsidiary of the German kitchen utensils, hotel and catering equipments supplier WMF, was the first foreign investor in a newly opened 10 hectares industrial area (CZK 105 million) of the city Domažlice. The company intends to employ 80 workers in 2007 and up to 180 people within next three years. The area has attracted six investors from Germany and could create some 600 new jobs in the long run. Employers are looking especially for machinery specialists. According to the local labour office, the project may considerably decrease unemployment rate in the city that currently amounts to 5.6 %.
