Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 16 October 2006, cooperative bank Norisbank opened 38 so-called Easycredit-shops. Norisbank is planning to establish another 60 shops in 2007 and to create 200 service jobs.
In summer 2006, Norisbank gave up on traditional forms of banking and sold its 98 local banks to Deutsche Bank. Whereas these banks now are part of Deutsche Bank, the workforce is still employed at Norisbank and partly works at the local banks and the new credit shops.
Norisbank's new 'Easy-credit-shop' concept to increase its number of customers is said to follow sales strategies of retail companies: the new shops specialise on easy-to-get credits for private customers.
