Description
The BBC is to lose 120 posts within its news division. The National Union of Journalists has written to the BBC querying the decision to bring in someone from outside BBC News to become the first sports editor at a time when the department is facing 120 job cuts.
Negotiations are continuing over the planned job cuts.
A trawl for voluntary redundancies is under way and executives are meeting unions next week to discuss how different departments will be affected.
