Ethics in the digital workplace

More than 170 employees at the Roches Stores outlet in Wilton in Cork city have been left jobless after a takeover deal with Marks and Spencer (M&S), which would have seen their jobs retained, fell through after the site landlord and M&S were unable to reach an agreement on the terms of a lease for the 45,000sq ft premises. The 172 staff were due to receive redundancy payments at the end of October.
Reports have emerged that retailer Penney's will become the new tenant at the store. It is not yet clear whether the former Roches Stores staff will be employed by Penney's.
