Pharmaceutical company Lek from Ljubljana,the subsidiary of the Swiss-based Sandoz group, builds a new bio-pharmaceutical development centre in Mengeš, near Ljubljana. The centre will operate within the existing unit in Mengeš specialised in the production of bio-pharmaceuticals - ingredients and products - which currently employs some 600 people. The investment in the new centre will reach EUR 6.7 million and will create about 100 new jobs for the high skilled professionals who will develop and produce the bio-pharmaceuticals (biological active pharmaceutical ingredients and products) for the global market of Sandoz. The development centre will be opened by mid-2007.
