Description
US healthcare group Abbott has unveiled a new 90 million euro manufacturing facility in Clonmel, Tipperary, in a move to expand its vascular operations. Abbott is planning to increase employment by 500 by the end of 2007. The Clonmel plant will eventually employ 1350. Total Abbott employment in Ireland is currently 3300. The plant will manufacture drug-eluting stents, which are used to treat heart problems.
