The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
On 6 September 2006, one of the leading German publishing houses Axel Springer, announced its plans to cut 266 jobs within its administration departments. This is part of the publishing houses strategy to increase its annual rate of return. In 2005, Springer employed 10,166 people in Germany and generated total revenues of 391.5 million euro. Springers headquarter is situated in Berlin. There is no information available on the employment effect timeline.
