Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Multinational fashion-wear company Escada from Germany will build a new centre for product and process development and logistics in Gornja Radgona. The investment value is EUR 12.5 million. The centre will undertake activities related to the development of Escada trademark, including education of dressmakers, modellers and other technical personnel. The centre will be operational by April 2007 and will operate in the framework of the company Elos-Escada. It will employ 150 employees. At present Escada has production facilities at the same location which employ 250 people. In 2005, the total turnover of the production unit in Gornja Radgona was app. EUR 4.2 million, while the total turnover of Escada Group in 2005 was app. EUR 649 million.
