Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 15 August 2006, the German engine manufacturer Deutz AG, stated that it wants to employ another 200 persons till the end of 2006. Approximately 100 jobs are to be created at its Cologne and Ulm production sites each. The manufacturer is profiting from an increasing demand for its products from North-America and a continuing stimulation of the construction industry. Deutz employs 5300 persons worldwide, amongst them 4100 employees in Germany (exact figures for each production site are not available).
