Description
Whirlpool, a firm that produces washing machines, are to create 120 new jobs in Slovakia by the end of 2006. The decision follows strong financial results in 2005, in which the firm generated a turnover of 11.9 billion SKK. The firm has also invested around 500 million SKK in a new form of washing machine, and the work on this product will generate the new jobs.
As of October 2006, it has been announced by Whirlpool that the production of the new washing machine led to the creation of 300 new jobs.
As of August 2007, company management have announced the creation of 160 new jobs at the Whirlpool plant in August 2007.
