Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The French manufacturer of chairs has announced that the group will cut 216 jobs in two factories in the north of Paris before the end of December 2006. These two factories employ 636 people. For several months, the sales have fallen whereas the prices of the raw materials have increase. Also, the competition of the manufacturers from Asia and Eastern Europe has consequences on the French market.
