Description

The CEO of the National Sickness Insurance Fund (Caisse nationale d'assurance maladie, CNAM) has approved the draft of the 'convention of management', a framework agreement regulating relationships between CNAM and the State between 2006 and 2009. With the aim to reduce costs, CNAM aims to rationalise its activities and cut down employment. Between July 2006 and July 2009, 11,250 employees will leave the company through retirement (CNAM has 81,000 employees). In the same period, 6,750 people will be recruited by which all in all, 4,500 jobs (11,250-6,750) will be lost.
