Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
A window and conservatory manufacturer with a turnover of £20m has called in administrators threatening 250 jobs. Directors of Corby Windows Limited said the firm, set up in 1992, had suffered significant losses and could no longer continue trading. The administrators are looking for a buyer for the company's production facilities in Corby, Northamptonshire. A large number of the 250 people working for the firm would lose their jobs, the administrators said.
