Description
The Austrian solar cell manufacturer Blue Chip Energy headquartered in Güssing, Burgenland, plans to set up a new production plant at that site. The company will start production of highly efficient solar cells on silicon basis in 2008, when 140 new jobs will be created. Total investment costs will amount to EUR 48.3 million, of which the federal state and the Land of Burgenland will contribute 7.7 million and 6.2 million, respectively. This information was released by the government of the Land of Burgenland on 28 June 2006.
