European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Tobacco manufacturer Philip Morris announced to shut down one of its three German manufacturing plants for cigarettes(Munich) in 2009. 400 workers will be dismissed. Philip Morris keeps 37% of the German cigarette market, yet declared the plant closure to be a consequence of a 32% decline of cigarette selling since 2002.
