Halifax Insurance has announced that it will take on 185 staff, bringing its total workforce in the Shannon region of Ireland to 440.
Commenting on their announcement of 185 additional jobs, Mr Jerry White, Managing Director, Halifax Insurance Ireland Ltd, said: "We are very pleased with our first four years of operation, and currently employ 255 staff at Shannon. The support of Shannon Development, the calibre of the people we have recruited, and the favourable business climate in Ireland make Shannon the natural choice for our expansion plans".
Based in Shannon, Co Clare, Halifax Insurance Ireland is a subsidiary of HBOS plc (Halifax and Bank of Scotland), one of the UK's largest banks. The Company specialises in creditor repayments insurance for HBOS customers. Business functions located at the Halifax Insurance Ireland offices at Shannon Free Zone include Underwriting, Customer Services, Direct Sales, Finance, IT and Human Resources.
