Description
Swedish furniture retailer IKEA will open five new stores, a factory of the industrial group Swedwood and two shopping malls until 2015 in Portugal.
In a first phase of the expansion, during the next 4 years, IKEA will create more than 1,650 direct jobs. During this first phase the construction of a manufacturing unit Swedwood is foreseen. This new surface will create 225 direct jobs. The location of this new factory is Paços de Ferreira.
The plans for the next 4 years also contemplate the construction of 3 new IKEA centres, the first one of which will open in Matosinhos in 2007.
