Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The group Yoplait (approximately 2,000 employees in France and the worlds number two in ultra-fresh products) announced the closing-down of its factory in Ressons in December 2006. The Yoplait group explains this decision by financial difficulties. The activity (manufacturer of yoghourts and fresh dairy products) of Yoplait Ressons (225 employees) will be transferred to other factories in France: Mans (Sarthe), Vienne (Isère), Monéteau (Yvonne) and Lyon (Rhône). The suppliers of Yoplait Ressons (approximately 3,500 farmers) will be maintained. In June or July 2006, the managers of Yoplait Ressons will submit to the Work's council job proposals for the 225 employees in the other factories. Partners PAI (hedge funds) and Sodiaal are the owners of the Yoplait group.
