Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The French group 'Le Bélier' has decided to cut between 177 and 184 jobs in its single French factory in the South-west of France before January 2007. Fonderies et Ateliers du Bélier (FAB)transforms metals for the automobile industry in Vérac (663 employees). The group, with factories in South America and South-east Asia, has announced that its metallurgical activities of automobile subcontracting will be produced in Hungary. The trade unions have disputed this decision (delocalisation) and wanted that the activity is maintained in South-west France.
