On 12 June 2006 Metro Cash&Carry, the German retailer, said it has kicked off the construction of a new hypermarket in Blagoevgrad, South-western Bulgaria. The 20 million euro outlet, Metro's 8th in the country, will have 7,200 sqm of retail floor area, will create 250 jobs and is set to open for business in November.
