Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On June 2006, the Amiens (Somme) France's official Court of Commerce and Industry ('Tribunal de commerce et de l'industrie') declared the bankruptcy and the permanent closure of the company 'Picardie Plasturgie', located in Somme, in the north of Paris. The company was a manufacturer of handbags, bags and as a result of the ruling, some 200 people will lose their job before the end of July 2006. The company was highly indebted and the offers of purchase of the company were rejected by the Court of Commerce.
