Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Zyta Gilowska, the Deputy Prime Minister also holding the finance portfolio, has ordered the cutting of remunerations in the public administration by 10%. The government’s spokesman has also announced the reduction of the public administration workforce by 10%, which means a cut by about 10,000 people (in late 2005, the Polish administration employed 107,000 people). These redundancies are part of a restructuring effort geared at reducing the operating costs of the national administration; they will be completed by January 2007.
