Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
In autumn 2006, Romania Hypermarche shall finalise in autumn the construction of its third hypermarket Cora in Cluj, whill will be the first outside Bucharest. The total investment value will amount to EUR 166 millions. The third commercial complex increases the staff by 600 employees additional to the current 2,000 employees of the company.
Retail companies from Romania have stated that by the end of the year they will employ approximately 6,000 people due to territorial expansion and the opening of new stores. The number of new jobs announced that will be created by every company are: 2,000 by Real-Hypermarket (Metro Group); 1,300 by Carrefour Romania (Carrefour Group); 1,000 by MGV Distri-Hiper (Auchan operator on the Romanian market); 600 by Romania Hypermarche; 700 by Plus Discount.
