Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On May 2006, Swiss agricultural machinery maker Bucher Industries AG (BUCN.EB) said it plans to restructure its operations in France, in order to stem the high losses at its Kuhn-Nodet unit. The company said it is looking at the relocation of the production of Kuhn-Nodet in Montereau (145 employment) to other French plants, and the shutdown of the Montereau facility. Bucher said it cannot determine the restructuring costs until the negotiations with the employee representatives have been completed, which is expected to take several months.
