Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Hundreds of jobs are being axed at Leeds Teaching Hospitals National Health Service (NHS) Trust in a bid to save £25m. About 430 posts will be cut as part of a cost-cutting plan aimed at saving £84m in the next three years, £25m of which is planned for this year. Chief executive, Neil McKay, said there were no current plans for redundancies and it was hoped the cuts could be met through leaving vacant posts unfilled.
