European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
On 08 May 2006, Deutsche Telekom, Germanys telecommunications operator, announced a restructuring of its staff. 6000 jobs are to be created in the customer and service business area. On the other hand 32,000 jobs are to be cut till the end of 2008. The reduction of jobs shall be regulated by compensation payments and offering senior employees to work part-time.
