Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The largest factory in Europe for the production of solar panels will be created by the end of May 2006 in Oliveira do Bairro.
In a first phase 100 direct jobs (20 percent of which will be qualified jobs) and 300 indirect jobs will be created.
The responsibility for this investment is of Solar Plus Production of Solar Panels (Produção de Painéis Solares SA). Solar Plus is a company with 80 percent of Portuguese participation (Eurico Ferreira and Telcabo as a major investors), Solar Plus has Energy Photovoltaics Inc (from USA) as its technological partners.
The large majority of the production will be for the external market: USA, Germany, Spain and Italy.
Solar Plus intends to double the production in 2007, becoming the largest units in the world in this sector.
