Founded in 1740, the Grande Brasserie Schutzenberger brewery is located in Schiltigheim, in the suburbs of Strasbourg. Grande Brasserie Schutzenberger, one of the biggest independent Manufacture of beer in France. It filed for bankruptcy on 19 April, 2006. All 180 people working in the company will be dismissed by the end of May, 2006. The main reason is decreased the sales of the company. Its production decreased in five years from 200,000 to 100,000 hectolitres, and its annual sales turnover from 15 to 10 million euros.
