Description
On 10 April 2006, postal and logistics firm TPG Post announced it will cut 1000 to 1100 jobs (full time equivalents) at six locations, i.e. Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag, Den Bosch, Zwolle and Nieuwegein. This reorganisation is part of a master plan announced in 2001 to make the parent company TNT more efficient in view of the increasing competition. The use of e-mail has caused a decrease in the amount of mail and since a few years TNT has to deal with two competitors on its home market, Select Mail (subsidiary of Deutsche Post) and Sandd. TNT counts on a 25 to 30% volume reduction until 2010.
