In the end of May 2006 150 Brazilian companies from 20 different sectors will be installed in Portugal, in a logistical platform located in Lisbon.
This decision resulted from a negotiation between the Portuguese Government (through ICEP - Instituto das Empresas para os Mercados Externos (Institute of Companies for the External Markets) and the APEX Brazilian Agência de Promoção de Exportação e Investimento (Exports and Investment Promotion Agency). This location option took into account the strategic geographic location within Europe as well as proximity of the airport and the sea port.
This platform will operate as a distribution centre of Brazilian products for the Iberic Peninsula, North Africa and countries which official language is the Portuguese.
APEX ensures the presence of this centre in Portugal for the next 5 years.
With the instalment of these 150 companies 450 direct jobs will be created.
