The sewing machine producer VMS Group will cut between 60 and 80 at its plant in Huskvarna. The company explained its decision was the result of the increased competition from low-cost countries. Trade unions put forward other reasons, i.e. the move of the headquarters of the company in the USA and the relocation in China of the production of basic sewing machines. Some 480 workers are currently employed by VMS Group in Huskvarna.
