Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Dutch company CMF Group will invest around € 3 million in the next three years to expand its Slovakian subsidiary. CMF Slovakia will produce sheet metal based welding constructions using CNC-cutting, welding and other modern technologies. According to CMF Slovakia CEO Ben Beljaars, 'the new production plant will produce a wide range of modern steel parts used in production of machines and engines with high added value, e.g. high-lift trucks and trailers. The plant could provide an even wider range of products if needed'. Currently, the subsidiary employs 22 workers working in a single shift. The number of employees is said to increase to 50 by the end of 2006 and to to 200 by the end of 2007.
