Description
Genpact, which developed from a fledgling company employing 350 people in India in 1997 into a global player providing business services and technology solutions, will be opening a service centre in Poland catering to the German market. Employment at this new facility will eventually reach 1500 persons, of whom 250 will be hired by the end of 2006. Poland will be the location of Genpact's outsourcing centre (also for information technology and communications services). The exact site of the centre has yet to be announced, although it will most likely be established in one of the special economic areas (probably in Poznań or Wrocław). There Genpact is likely to find the specialists fluent in German it wants to employ. Genpact's global workforce is 19000; it operates service centres in India, Romania, Hungary, China, the United States and in Mexico. General Electric maintains a 40% stake in the company.
