Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Łmeat, the Łukowo-based meat processing company, will dismiss 222 workers, with the first redundancies scheduled for April 14, 2006. The redundancies are part of a restructuring package, a reaction to declining demand for the company's products. Redundancies are concentrated in the production and technical departments (151 jobs in total), with further jobs cut in the commercial and finance departments. The security department will be completely dissolved. Some of the affected employees have received offers for cooperation with Łmeat as self-employed.
