Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
According to the Lithuanian Labour Exchange (the country's employment office associated to the Ministry of Social Security and Labour), Kraitene, a manufacturer and distributor of ice cream and other frozen products in Lithuania, announced its bankruptcy on 2 March, 2006. The company employed 387 workers. The Local Labour Exchange provides assistance in finding new work places for dismissed workers and almost all of those loosing their jobs at Kraitene will be employed in other local companies under temporary labour contracts.
