Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Mærsk Container Industri informs 10 March 2006 that due to falling prices on cooling containers and a low dollar exchange, the company is no longer able to produce containers to competitive prices at the factory in Tinglev. Consequently the production will be closed whereby 250 employees will be made redundant during 2006. From 2007 Tinglev will be administrative headquater for Mærsk Container Industri's activities in Qingdao and Dungguan in China, employing around 50 employees. Mærsk, the regional Public Employment Services and the unions are trying to find other jobs or further training in the region for the redundants. Tinglev was one of the most modern robot equipped factories in Denmark. This information has been confirmed in a press release issued by Mærsk Container Industri.
