Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Hewlett Packard Financial Services is to create up to 120 jobs in Leixlip, County Kildare, by centralising its operations for Europe, the Middle East and Africa in Ireland. The move which is being supported by Ireland's Industrial Development Agency (IDA), will create high-value financial services jobs this year. The jobs are being created in Hewlett Packard International Bank, a fully licensed bank. The bank is one of the largest International Financial Services Centre (IFSC)banks in Ireland. It allows HP Financial Services to offer equipment financing solutions to customers on a pan-European basis. Currently employing 240, HP Financial Services will have about 360 employees by the end of 2006.
