The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Publisher Wegener plans to cut some 300 jobs, or 15% of staff, and shift its seven regional newspapers to a smaller format. A phased transition to a compact tabloid format for the papers will be launched, starting in the second half of 2006. Wegener hopes to cut costs and appeal to more readers and advertisers with this new format. The job cuts are expected in 2007.
